What's included in the studio hire?
Black, grey and white paper backdrops (extra colours $15 each), studio strobes and continuous video lights, softboxes, strip boxes, beauty dishes, gels, triggers, and every prop in the space except the cat. Multiple shooting areas: seamless paper, makeup mirrors for BTS glamour, display shelves for product, the roller door for grungy industrial, or the lip couch with the sirens behind you.
Can I bring my own gear, props or apparatus?
Bring whatever the shoot needs: your own lights, your own hoop or hammock for the rig, set pieces, all of it. Just give us a heads up if it's messy (confetti, glitter, slime, smoke machine) so the next booking doesn't inherit it.
What's rigged for pole, aerial and movement?
A floor-to-ceiling tension pole and a stage pole ($60 setup, the tension pole can run a seamless paper backdrop underneath it). An aerial rig at $75/session that comes with a lyra, or attach your own apparatus. Clear floor space for full movement work.
Can I add a studio tech?
If the brief is bigger than your hands, add James as studio tech at $99/hr. He runs the technical side, lighting changes, setups, problem-solving, while you direct the shoot. Optional, and most hirers don't need it.
How many people can I bring?
As many as you need for your shoot!
Between our shooting area for your photog, the green room for the models, and the makeup area for your MUA's, the studio is large enough to comfortable accomodate up to 8-10 people.
My shoot is sensitive. Who else will be in the building?
Nobody.
Hire is private: the room is yours, the door is closed, and there's no staff member restocking shelves behind your set. Discretion is standard here, not a special request.
Do you host kink, fetish, boudoir and nude art shoots?
Yes, and you don't need to dress it up as "editorial" in the booking notes. This work is a normal part of the calendar here. Everyone on set is a consenting adult and the door is closed. Same rates, same room, same respect as any commercial job.
Can I book extra time?
If availabilities permit on the day, you can extend your studio hire for $75/h

What we provide
Private studio access
The whole studio to yourself for your full booking. No shared spaces, no other bookings stacked on top of yours, no audience.
All the lights
Studio strobes and triggers, continuous video lights, softboxes and modifiers, all included in the hire fee. Walk in, it's there.
Studio tech on tap
An optional second pair of hands. Add James at $99/hr to run lighting and the technical side while you direct. Crew when you need it, invisible when you don't.

Hey, I'm James!
I shoot for a living, and I built Siren because Sydney needed a studio that takes working creatives seriously. Every light, modifier and backdrop in the hire fee, a private room, and nobody flinching at the concepts other studios knock back.
Ten years behind a camera. A hundred-plus Sydney photographers through the door. If you want a second opinion on a lighting setup mid-shoot, you'll get a good one, and probably a terrible joke with it.
